Absolute Poker review

Absolute Poker was one of the last online poker operations to join the poker boom around 2004. This fact took its toll on the site early on, though after a while it seemed like it was slowly but surely gathering momentum. Its player base mostly made up of US players, the 2006 UIGEA hit it dead on and it looked like the operation had reached the end of the road. It was then that it joined Ultimate Bet to form the Cereus network, and to feature state of the art software, especially developed for the big merger.
The site is now among the ranks of the online poker elite, despite a cheating scandal that rocked it to its very foundations right before the merger with Ultimate Bet.

Absolute Poker’s software is simplistic despite the recent overhaul. The accent is obviously not on the eye-candy, but rather on the functionality. In that respect, there’s really not much more one could expect from an online poker room. The Cereus software looks smooth and it runs smooth too. It is extremely stable and it comes complete with all the options players would expect from a modern online poker room.
A four color deck option is available too, and so is a rabbit cam. Multi tabling is supported and final table deal-making is available as well. Despite the nice functionality, the customization level allowed by the Cereus software is extremely limited.
